Agbotic receives “Greenhouse Production System of the Year” award from AgTech Breakthrough

Our proprietary technology enables the production of local, safe and low-cost food while reducing carbon and cleaning the air, water and soil – John Gaus, CEO of Agbotic

Agbotic, the leader in SmartFarm automation with decarbonized and denitrified soil greenhouses, today announced its 2022 AgTech Breakthrough Award for “Greenhouse Production System of the Year”. The 2022 AgTech Breakthrough Award is presented by AgTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the best companies, technologies and products in the global agriculture and food technology markets.

Agbotic builds SmartFarms with a big data and deep learning model to grow local, organic crops year-round with the lowest production costs in the industry and a leading regenerative climate footprint . The company’s unique, patented and patent-pending automation and AI capability integrates with traditional farms and renewable energy SmartGrids with a technology stack that extends into outdoor agriculture.

Because Agbotic grows in the ground, it can easily change crop type to grow leafy greens; culinary and medicinal herbs; root crops; and long cycle woody stem crops. Agbotic has successfully grown ginger, figs and inputs for herbal beverages and personal care products. For these types of crops, Agbotic uses precision machinery to collect high-resolution, hyper-variable data for machine learning to achieve consistent gains in crop yields and lower production costs. Over the past 24 months, Agbotic has generated yield gains of 50-100% on several chemical-free organic crops and production costs for a number of its crops are now competitive with conventional agriculture/ outdoor chemicals.

“We are honored to win this incredible AgTech Breakthrough award at a time when news cycles are dominated by climate, inflation, food security and food prices. Our proprietary technology enables local food production , safe and low-cost while reducing carbon and cleaning air, water and soil,” said Agbotic CEO John Gaus. “Much of agriculture can and should be distributed from cost-effectively in community-scale production systems to invigorate rural economies; make cheaper, healthier food; suck up carbon; and clean up the environment. Our decarbonized, denitrified approach does just that. One day soon, every community will want a SmartFarm.

The mission of the annual AgTech Breakthrough Awards program is to conduct the industry’s most comprehensive analysis and evaluation of agricultural and food technology categories, including Internet of Things (IoT)-based agricultural technologies and l intelligence (AI), farm management, indoor farming, food quality, data analytics and many more. This year’s program attracted more than 1,600 nominations from more than 15 countries around the world.

“The past two years remind us of the importance of food security. Agbotic’s model has put good, healthy food on the shelves of most major retailers and on the trucks of most major New York State food distributors. We expect it can do the same in many places with enormous value for people and the planet. said Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director, AgTech Breakthrough. “We congratulate Agbotic for their work and this important award.”
