AV installation company taps brand for live streaming and video production projects – rAVe [PUBS]

AKRON, OHIO, OCTOBER 24, 2022 – As a provider of audio, video, live broadcast and lighting solutions, Medianet AV installs and provides services and production equipment to various organizations, most often churches in the ‘Ohio and surrounding areas. To deliver the high-quality image and versatility needed for video production and delivery in the worship space, Medianet AV owner Zac Novak and his team often choose cameras from JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation.

Due entirely to the pandemic, video production and live streaming, which was once seen as something a church might need in the future, has become a requirement of the present. As the shutdowns began, places of worship turned to whatever equipment was available to provide live services to gatherings, which included everything from existing and aging equipment to off-the-shelf solutions from big-box stores. More recently, however, Novak has seen an increase in venues willing to invest in more professional equipment to improve this aspect of their production.

“After the first year or so, these sites started realizing their live streams weren’t great and decided to upgrade to something better,” says Novak. “We’ve been really focused on helping our customers replace consumer hardware with something more professional. One of our most important jobs as church integrators is to not only meet the needs of our customers, who often work with tight budgets, but also to anticipate how their needs might change in the years to come. When it comes to cameras, JVC is always at the top of our list of recommendations for our customers.”

Among the many places of worship where Medianet AV has installed JVC cameras is The Chapel in Akron. The large church on the campus of the University of Akron in Ohio had a video system consisting of 13-year-old cameras and a video switcher, all running at 720p. The goal was to run the church system at 1080p, while staying within budget. After reviewing several manufacturers, the Medianet AV team decided that JVC’s GY-HC900 cameras were the obvious choice. The JVC CONNECTED CAM™ studio and associated JVC monitors were also installed behind the scenes. “JVC equipment not only delivered the same quality as other leading manufacturers, but it did so at a much lower price, which benefited the church,” Novak adds.

Updated production equipment in place provided The Chapel in Akron with greater flexibility and higher quality video without difficulty. “Some of the favorite additions for the chapel include CCU control, countdown and the ability to record to an SD card. This was a huge step up, something they had never experienced before.

MediaNet AV integrates JVC for dozens of projects every year. The company’s goal when serving churches is to maximize technology budgets. “Churches want to make sure their productions are up to par with the streaming services we’re all used to today,” Novak continues, “most don’t have full-time production professionals to run a studio. broadcast style, so in these cases we generally recommend integrating a system with PTZ cameras, which will allow churches to capture/stream video content in an easy and accessible way.”

Medianet AV has also been specifying JVC KY-PZ100 PTZ cameras for several years and “was pleased to have the KY-PZ200 and KY-PZ400 solutions in our inventory when they were launched last year. Although we haven’t had a chance to work with the upcoming KY-PZ510 solutions yet, we are excited to start integrating them into future installations as well.

Based in Akron, Ohio, Medianet AV was founded in 2010 by Novak, who previously worked for a large church in a media production role. At first, he was helping media crews from nearby churches set up and train on the equipment, which inspired him to turn his service into a full-time business. In addition to churches, Medianet AV also serves the audiovisual needs of schools and businesses in Ohio and surrounding states, such as Pennsylvania and Michigan.
