The US Air Force awarded Rockwell Collins a $99.6 million contract for avionics support engineering services. The agreement provides for propitiatory engineering services and assistance for recurring and non-recurring requirements related to the E-3 airborne warning and control system. The E-3 Sentry aircraft enables the Joint Air Operations Center to gain real-time battlespace awareness through the system’s command, control, surveillance, sensing and tracking capabilities. The work will take place in Iowa. The expected completion date is February 11, 2032.

Bell Textron has announced its move to the next phase of the AFWERX High-Speed ​​Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) Challenge, a crowdsourcing effort for the United States Air Force and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Bell’s HSVTOL vehicles combine the hover capability of a helicopter with the speed, range and survivability characteristics of combat aircraft. This family of scalable aircraft concepts is designed to support a range of missions, including personnel recovery, autonomous ISR/Strike and tactical mobility, with low hover capability and jet-like speeds over 400 knots.

Middle East and Africa

Iran has begun mass production of the Aras-3 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) in addition to unveiling a number of locally upgraded missile defense systems.
