The latest announced production launch (SOP) will further strengthen the longstanding collaboration between Canatu and Methode. Methode-Canatu’s very first SOP dates back to 2015, when the companies developed a new touch sensor for an integrated overhead console in a high-end electric vehicle. To date, over 600,000 touch sensors have been successfully delivered with a truly exceptional Field Return Rate (FRR) of 0.
“We have a great working relationship with the Methode team,” said Samuli Kohonen, Vice President of Sales at Canatu. “Method has been our loyal customer since 2015, and we are proud that they continue to rely on our 3D formable touch solutions to support the visionary developments of their high-end OEM customers. Years of close collaboration come with more effective communication, shorter product development cycles, and seamless joint development from initial design to mass production.
“After years of close collaboration, we have come to know Canatu as a reliable partner; one that provides the most advanced touchscreen technology with high optical clarity and extensive experience working with high-end OEMs,” added Roxana Constandin, Direct Buyer, Methode Electronics. “Combining our module-level integration expertise with Canatu’s state-of-the-art touchscreen technology, the integrated center console solution is sure to deliver a premium user experience. »
Canatu’s transparent, 3D-formable touch sensors are driving automotive innovation, as OEMs seek to differentiate their vehicles with intuitive user interfaces. Experience in mass production for several companies in the automotive and semiconductor industries has made Canatu a reliable partner for early-stage OEMs and Tier 1 companies looking to make breakthroughs.
Canatu CNT’s optical properties such as high transmission, color neutrality, low reflection and zero haze are ideal for lighting applications, creating a better driving experience.
In addition to the current SOP, other developments between Canatu and Methode for future projects are also underway, further strengthening the strong technical and commercial relationship between the companies.
