Foxconn Accelerates Hiring for Mass Production iPhone 14 by Offering Bonuses as Apple Increases Shipments by 5%

It was recently reported that Apple increased iPhone 14 shipments from 90 million units to 95 million units, an increase of 5%. Now, Apple supplier Foxconn is accelerating the recruitment of workers by offering a higher premium.

Foxconn starts offering a higher recruiting bonus

Apple’s decision to increase shipments of the iPhone 14 line can be attributed to the demand the iPhone 13 line has seen since its launch. Despite lockdowns, geopolitical uncertainties and inflation, the range has managed to perform incredibly well in the smartphone market.

In response to increased iPhone 14 shipments from Apple, Foxconn is offering higher hiring bonuses to workers as mass production of the line begins. The bonus offered by Foxconn is a 50% increase over the standard number.

iPhone 14 Pro

The 6-1 inch iPhone 14 will also be made in India by Foxconn, TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently revealed. The reason for this decision is that Apple is working on expanding its supply chain to avoid ongoing geopolitical risks and to ensure the smooth running of production of its flagship lineup thereafter.

In addition to manufacturing the iPhone 14 in India, the Cupertino tech giant is also trying to diversify its supply chain in China to avoid production delays in the future. The move will help the tech giant ensure its production runs smoothly in one area if another sees disruption for whatever reason. The main reason for the move is that moving production to other countries could take many years.

iPhone 14 Pro

This year’s iPhone 14 lineup is expected to include four models: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

This year’s standard and Pro iPhone models are expected to have key differences. The standard iPhone 14 model is expected to feature the same design as its predecessor with the same A15 chip. On the other hand, the Pro models are expected to receive the A16 chip, a new pill + punch-hole cutout for the display, major camera upgrades as well as supposed features like an always-on display. All models are expected to have 6GB of RAM and support 30W charging.

On top of that, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that the Pro models will feature an improved front camera. As revealed by Kuo, the front camera will feature autofocus which will deliver sharper images and improved image quality.

Additionally, the camera will also have a 6-element lens instead of a 5-element lens, which will also add to the image quality. The rear camera of the Pro models will be upgraded to 48MP, which will enable 8K video recording.
