So far, the Galaxy A04s has been sitting quietly in the background while the majority of recent news has revolved around Samsung’s impending Unpacked event and upcoming foldable phones. Nevertheless, Samsung hasn’t forgotten about its cheaper phones such as the Galaxy A04, and a new report has shed light on the status and whereabouts of this unreleased smartphone.

Samsung has reportedly kicked off its production lines and started manufacturing the Galaxy A04s at its Noida factory. The Noida factory was inaugurated in 2018 and has become the largest smartphone manufacturing plant in the world.

The Galaxy A04 would now enter the full production phase at the Noida factory in India. And rumor has it that Samsung plans to release the device in late September or early October before the holiday season begins. The Galaxy A04s are expected to strike a balance between specs and affordability, although Samsung plans to launch both an LTE and 5G model. Either way, this should make for a great affordable phone for shopping season.

Samsung may have equipped the Galaxy A04s with the Exynos 850 chipset, as previous benchmark entries have revealed. The phone was also approved by the FCC recently. Preliminary renders reveal a triple-camera setup, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a display with an Infinity-V notch for the selfie camera. It’s a budget phone through and through, and we’ll have to wait and see if it can punch above its weight class.
