Horizon Robotics and SAIC-GM-Wuling officially entered into a strategic cooperation agreement on January 14. According to the agreement, both sides will build on their respective advantages in technological accumulation and industrial resources in the fields of automobiles and AI. They will also drive continued integration and innovation in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automatic driving and intelligent vehicle-mounted interaction.
Under the agreement, Horizon Robotics will provide intelligent driving solutions, with a full suite of “Journey” chips as the core, to help SAIC-GM-Wuling design intelligent vehicles.
The two parties have conducted in-depth cooperation and made substantial joint progress since the beginning of 2021. In the first half of 2022, Horizon’s Matrix Mono assisted driving solution, based on the Journey 2 chip, will begin to fit different models produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling. In addition, Horizon’s Halo smart interactive vehicle solution based on the Journey 2 chip will power SAIC-GM-Wuling’s KiWi EV model in mass production.
In order to meet the needs of continuously improved intelligent driving experience, the two sides are still exploring the R&D of intelligent functions for high-end models, jointly creating multi-level automatic driving and vehicle-mounted intelligent interactive functions constantly evolution. In addition, the two parties are working together to build an intelligent computing platform with high performance and excellent computing power, and accelerate the large-scale mass production of high-level automatic driving functions based on the Journey 5 chip. .
