At MEC2 GmbH livecookintable®, an important aspect of our sustainability goals is to source raw materials for key components of our products regionally throughout our supply chain.

Regionality is defined as the use of materials from the same location as the factory. By consolidating goods in one place for shipping, we save on shipping costs, which helps us reduce our carbon footprint.

Let’s start at the beginning of the supply chain process with raw materials. Livecookintable® consists of just a few materials that form the basis of our popular lego-like system, BAUKASTEN. These primary raw materials include stainless steel, high pressure laminate, ceramic glass, and vegan leather.

Regionality also extends to the electrical and wood components of our equipment. Most companies tend to stray from Europe for such products, but we even pride ourselves on sourcing components regionally from trusted and reliable suppliers. By doing so, we avoid adding unnecessary shipping costs, thus playing our part in respecting the environment.

When the company was founded in 2009, the selection of raw materials in the design phase was specifically based on regional suppliers for the reasons above. Moreover, it gives us full authority to ensure the highest standards of quality control of the raw materials used in the production of our equipment. The whole process is closely monitored.
