The role of the Process and Controls Engineer will be to provide engineering support to Maui Brewing Company’s brewery production operations – including brewhouse, cellar, packaging, controls/automation and maintenance – as well as collaborating with the Maui Brewing project manager. The candidate will work cross-functionally to streamline processes, implement lean manufacturing principles, and improve overall brewery equipment efficiency (OEE).

Job responsibilities including but not limited to:
Support brewery leadership in safety, process improvement and troubleshooting
Manage the safety program by developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), training and following all aspects of the brewery’s safety program to ensure and document regulatory compliance
Perform design reviews, pre-startup safety reviews and job safety analysis for new equipment and processes
Calculate, predict and mitigate risks and process safety
Develop and implement lean manufacturing operations, processes, tools and systems and train other MBC teammates in these areas
Lead process improvements and implement changes to continually reduce operating costs
Work alongside production and maintenance teams to resolve process issues as they arise
Generate SOPs to support production processes and equipment design
· Think and act analytically to find effective solutions, with exceptional attention to detail and an ability to solve practical work-related problems
Utilize system management through automation to increase consistency and efficiency in brewing and cellaring processes
Provide technical support and oversight to all project work
Lead the automation software upgrade project to migrate all brewhouse and cellar controls from Idec to Siemens ProLeiT Brewmaxx
Required Skills :

Knowledge of Siemens and Allen Bradley programming and component specifications
Extensive experience in successfully troubleshooting fluid flow problems, pumps, motors, instrumentation, control component failures, etc. encountered in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of process engineering and modeling software systems
· Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations, including food safety standards
Required qualities :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or in a technical field
Hours and wages:
This position is an exempt position as described by the Fair Labor Standards Act and does not qualify for overtime. The total salary paid is defined in the salary section of a job posting. Weekly working hours can vary as an “exempt employee” and can be up to 50 hours per week. It is the team member’s responsibility to clock in and out times so that hours worked can be accurately tracked, and it is important to bring a manager’s attention if they feel that it will exceed 50 hours in a current work week. If a team member takes unpaid leave or is terminated with a partial work week, the following formula will be used to calculate pay: Bi-weekly pay divided by 10 multiplied by the number of days worked.
