Samsung recently began initial shipment of its 1st Generation 3nm GAA treat. The 2nd generation the process is rumored to have deployed massive expeditions in 2024.
No company has taken a peek at Samsung’s groundbreaking technology. Instead, they chose to stick with TSMC. All this can change when Samsung launches the second iteration of its 3nm GAA technology. The initial batch was aimed at cryptocurrency miners, as a new process provides increased efficiency and reduced power consumption.
The S23 will not feature the ‘Exynos 2300‘. Samsung’s trial of a mobile SoC came with its share of issues such as overheating. Now it looks like Samsung might be turning to Exynos and use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 already puts Apple’s silicon in a tight spot. Samsung plans not to lose anything this time.
We can ask ourselves the question, “Why not Samsung?”. Well to answer this question, Samsung’s initial 4nm the fries had a ‘yield‘ problem. This is becoming a major concern in such a large industry where even the last nanometer matters. However, in a tweet from Sravan Kundojjalahe assures that Samsung could attract the attention of cellphone manufacturers with their 2nd generation 3nm fries.
Looks like Samsung ditched Exynos in the short term but hopes to come back strong. On the foundry side, yields continue to improve. 3GAP (2nd gen 3nm) will go into production in 2024 and in discussions with several mobile customers for this.

In comparison with the 5nm chips, the new from Samsung 3nm fleas consume 50% less power while having a massive performance boost of up to 30%. Although no comparison has been made with the 4nm chips, we can still expect a rally.
