Job duties
- Proactively research and acquire programming across multiple genres for multiple platforms, as well as identify new content and distribution opportunities.
- Attend markets, industry events and screenings as appropriate
- Execute P&Ls and provide financial analysis and reports as required.
- Negotiate and issue letters of offer for transactions as well as build internal business cases.
- Maintain our current roster of artists and clients for the Acquisitions and Production team in the US and Canada
- Achieve specific revenue goals for successful new programming
- Define the strategy for all projects brought to the company and manage the deployment
- Work internally across UPCG and NBCUniversal to produce and distribute new content according to agreed upon schedules and release deadlines
- Coordinating the global distribution of content to UK and international markets
- Manage internal processes such as drafting offer letters and board approval packages
- Collect feedback and proactively resolve issues related to offers, releases and business activities
Basic qualifications
- Demonstrable experience with cross-platform content distribution
- Previous experience in a talent facing role and can demonstrate an ability to build strong relationships with artists, licensors, producers and distributors.
- A keen instinct for potentially successful content and the foresight to acquire that content before competitors
- Skilled negotiator with the ability to set up and close deals and experience delivering goals
- Strong knowledge of transaction finance, including P&L, to help drive negotiation and objectives
- Significant experience (approximately 7+ years) with entertainment media, content acquisitions and/or brand management
