Sharif Ahmed admires Walton’s multidimensional production system

Minister of State for Housing and Public Works, Md. Sharif Ahmed on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 visited the headquarters of Walton, the leading electronics and technology manufacturing company.

The Minister of State toured several of Walton’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plants, including elevators or elevators, generators, air conditioners, refrigerators, compressors, metal castings and cables. He admired Walton’s multidimensional advanced production systems.

During his visit, the Minister of State also laid the foundation stone for the 15-storey “elevator test tower” under construction at the Walton headquarters.

SM Shamsul Alam, Vice Chairman of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, and Golam Murshed, Managing Director and CEO, welcomed the Minister of State with bouquets at the headquarters upon his arrival.

Among others, Joint Secretary for Housing and Public Works, Md Shawkat Ali, Deputy Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech, Humayun Kabir, Senior Executive Directors, Colonel (Retired) Shahadat Alam, Firoj Alam, Tanvir Rahman, Yusuf Ali, Sohel Rana and Easir Al Imran. , Executive Directors Shahjalal Hossain Limon, Abdullah Al Mamun, Zahidul Islam, Mohsin Ali Mollah, Shahjada Salim and other senior company officials also attended.

After the visit, the Minister of State said, “Walton produces necessities like fridge, TV and many more in Bangladesh. It really deserves praise. We wish Walton continued success and prosperity.”

He said the government is trying to ensure that local entrepreneurs do not face any problems due to the rising prices of industrial raw materials in the world market and the devaluation of Bangladesh’s currency against the US dollar. The Prime Minister is monitoring the situation and we are doing everything we can to maintain the normal course of production and export so that local industries can contribute to the national economy by earning foreign exchange, he added.

Electronics and other locally produced products are given priority for use in government institutions, mentioning this, the Minister of State said, “Our government gives priority to locally produced products, especially electronics, which are used in public and private institutions. This will accelerate the development of domestic industry.
