Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd aims to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by assisting them in product development and international market access. The upcoming Brunei Food Industry Development (BFID) multi-purpose manufacturing and processing facility in Ghanim will be set up this year to enable SMEs to test their products, mass-produce and package their products for sale and export .
This was said yesterday by Ghanim Managing Director, Dr Nur Rahman, during a roundtable discussion on “Making Trade Easier: Small Market, Big Opportunities” as part of China’s Economics Week. Brunei 2022 Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition (Brunei MYCE 2022).
Other panelists were Yusdiman bin Dato Paduka Haji Saman, Acting Deputy Director of the Trade Division of the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE), and Wong Wai See, Chief Executive Officer of the Brunei Darussalam Food Authority (BDFA).
Yusdiman also shared the roles of the trading division and how companies can sell and trade their products.
Wong explained the role of the BDFA in overseeing the quality and safety of food production in the Sultanate. The CEO also shared the processes involved in obtaining BDFA approval.
The event also saw workshops allowing entrepreneurs to interact and network with key industry players to establish and grow their business.
