SPORTTOTAL AG will assume the role of media company for the production of moving images on behalf of MagentaTV

Cologne, February 17, 2022. Deutsche Telekom and SPORTTOTAL AG are expanding their collaboration: FORTY10 GmbH, a new 100% subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG, has prevailed against well-known competitors with its innovative production concept within the framework of a complex tendering procedure, enabling it to obtain a one-year contract for the production of animated images on behalf of MagentaTV. As a media company, the Cologne-based technology and streaming experts will gradually transition Magenta TV’s live production to remote production, also using AI-based camera work, and automate production processes. From winter 2022, Forty10 will produce the FIFA World Championship from Qatar as a key producer for MagentaTV. SPORTTOTAL AG expects an increasing annual revenue contribution in the double-digit millions from the new production subsidiary from 2022. Going forward, Forty10 will develop content-related services and business models.

Automation of distribution processes
SPORTTOTAL prevailed in the tender process, mainly due to its exceptional competence in the field of AI-based broadcast process automation – the result of significant investments in the development of proprietary technologies. during the last years. Deutsche Telekom’s contractual partner is the new SPORTTOTAL subsidiary FORTY10 headed by Peter Lauterbach and Oliver Grodowski. As part of the cooperation, FORTY10 is to gradually shift from producing motion pictures for MagentaTV, also using AI-based camera work, to remote production and automating production processes.

FORTY10 will continue to work on strategies to build a state-of-the-art television studio at the Bonn-based headquarters of Telekom Deutschland GmbH.
Expand cooperationDeutsche Telekom and SPORTTOTAL are expanding their successful cooperation with this collaboration. An intensive distribution cooperation between SPORTTOTAL’s subsidiary sporttotal.tv gmbh, one of Germany’s largest multi-sport streaming platforms, and Telekom Deutschland GmbH has been concluded for a fixed term until 2026. In addition, the two companies have been working very successfully on free-to-air live linear TV entertainment offering “#dabeiTV” on MagentaTV since 2020. In the very first year, the broadcast station delighted over 100 million viewers with a mix TV series, reports, documentaries, sports and debates, as well as the best events changing on a monthly basis.
