Tata EV: Tata Technologies expresses interest in establishing electric vehicle production center in Punjab

Global digital engineering and product development services firm Tata Technologies has expressed interest in setting up an electric vehicle production center in Punjab, a statement from the state government said on Wednesday. A delegation from Tata technologies visited Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann here at his official residence on Wednesday, the statement said.

During deliberations, the delegation comprising of Tata Technologies Global CEO Warren Harris, Global HR and IT Chairman Pawan Bhageria and others showed keen interest in establishing this unit in the state with a current investment of Rs 250 crore and a future investment of Rs 1,600 crore, said The release.

The delegation said it will focus on the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the electric vehicle segment with a focus on cleaner mobility and job creation for young people in the world. Punjab.

The visiting delegation believed that the company will also provide skills development for young people in the state.

The Chief Minister has assured full support and cooperation to Tata Technologies for this project.

He said the state government is committed to accelerating industrial growth in the state and no effort will be spared for this.

Mann said the government has a duty to reverse the trend of young Punjabi going abroad in search of green pastures for their careers by ensuring that the best job opportunities can be created here through such projects.

Mann said the state government is already calling on more industrial tycoons from across the country to set up their businesses in the state.

He said Punjab has emerged as the most investment-friendly destination in the country.

Mann said the state government’s investment-friendly policies coupled with hardworking, dedicated and skilled human resources are a boon for any industrial development.

Meanwhile, it was also decided at the meeting that Lamrin Tech Skill University (LTSU) based in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar will collaborate with IBM, an anchor partner and with Tata Technologies and Ansys Corporation for the establishment of high-end technology labs through an education innovation center with the investment of Rs 602 crore.

This will help produce a pool of skilled labor needed for the state’s industrial houses. It said.
