The Apple Watch Series 8 will go into mass production at the end of August, according to the leaker

The Apple Watch Series 8 will go into mass production later this month, according to a reputable leaker @ShrimpApplePro on Twitter which claims that the new wearable will retain the same overall design as the current-generation Apple Watch Series 7 it will replace, except for some color options, which are expected to be dropped in September when the Apple Watch Series 8 will debut.

According to the leaker, via MacRumorsApple Watch Series 8 will feature the same design as Apple Watch Series 7 without any design improvements, with the same 41mm and 45mm size options and rounded metal cases, with leaker sources unaware of any new sensors added to the future wearable, suggesting that the Apple Watch Series 8 will be a relatively minor upgrade over the previous generation.

The leaker suggests that the Apple Watch Series 8 will come in Midnight, Starlight, Silver and (PRODUCT)RED aluminum finishes, with stainless steel models coming in Silver and Graphite options, compared to Blue, Green, Space Black and Gold Aluminum options on the Apple Watch Series 7.

Go to Twitter, @ShrimpApplePro reports that Apple suppliers are expected to begin mass production of the Apple Watch Series 8 later this month at the end of August, suggesting there should be no launch delay for the new model.

Apple is expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 8 alongside an upgraded Apple Watch SE and a new rugged ‘Apple Watch Pro’ in September, with reinforced hardware to withstand use in extreme sporting environments where the wearable is susceptible to being hit, bumped and dropped.
