The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 would have entered mass production

The The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 would go into mass production on June 1, 2022. The foldable is expected to be announced in August 2022, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 4, with deliveries expected later in September. This information was revealed via a tweet by user Roland Quandt, a tipster with a rather impressive track record when it comes to uncovering tech leaks. Few smartphones are as technically difficult to manufacture as the Galaxy Z Fold range. While Samsung has come a long way to perfect the technology behind foldables (most of us remember the fiasco that was the launch of the first Galaxy Fold), putting together the myriad of intricate parts needed to fit together doesn’t is still not an easy task.

From the foldable display itself, to the (seemingly smaller) hinge, to the under-display camera, there’s a lot that can go wrong. If all goes well, the first units should be ready by the end of July, just in time for last-minute testing.

While all the rumors surrounding the Galaxy Z Fold 4 are nearly impossible to track, most leaks point to significant improvements in a number of crucial areas. Screen crease, screen proportions and hinge clutter all need to be addressed in this generation of Fold.

As for specs, most insiders are expecting stellar performance from the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which is said to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Earlier this week, we’ve covered the foldable’s full specs leak in a dedicated article.

Nevertheless, all of the above should be taken with a pinch of salt. Although we are quite confident in the reliability of the leaks, surprises are always possible. Until we have the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in our hands, nothing is really certain.
