Apple AR Glasses would go into mass production later this year

Apple is reportedly working on its Mixed Reality (MR) headset which will combine Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). A recent online leak has revealed that the Cupertino-based tech giant is developing its AR glasses which are expected to be unveiled in the second half of 2024. Now, a new report has surfaced online, revealing some additional information about the headset.
According to a report from 9to5Mac, the prototype of the yet to be launched Apple AR Glasses is now ready. The report also adds that the glasses would be ready by the end of this year.
The report also revealed that Corning and Hoya were sampling the glass, and the glasses are now in the development stage. Apple AR Glasses are also expected to enter mass production by the end of this year.
Another online report suggests that LG may have started producing microOLED displays for Apple’s upcoming mixed reality headsets.
According to a report by the publication Elec, LG is expected to start production of microOLED displays soon. The company is expected to provide these screens to Apple for its mixed reality headsets. The report also adds that Apple could use sonymicroLED panel for screen on sound MR helmetwhile the LG screen is designed to provide the outdoor screen.
ARKit, which is Apple’s AR platform, was launched in 2017 to allow developers to create for iPhones and iPads.
At WWDC 2022, Apple didn’t launch an AR/VR headset, nor did it talk in detail about either technology. But there were enough glimpses – in the world of augmented reality. The Home app has been redesigned and has a lot of AR influence. Live Text will have video support and will again rely on AR to deliver accurate results.
