Two new mass production awards with Chinese automakers will bring cars equipped with Autotalks’ lifesaving V2X solution to Chinese roads in 2023

Autotalks, a global leader in V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication solutions, has won two new mass production awards with top Chinese automakers. Under the agreement, the Autotalks-based V2X solution will power both manufacturers’ flagship brands.

The first brand of V2X-powered cars will be rolled out in China from the second half of 2023. The other Chinese automaker, which has a large European presence, will roll out the V2X-powered car in China and Europe from early 2024. Both automakers will integrate Autotalks’ V2X into the Telematics Control Unit (TCU).

Autotalks is the only vendor in the world whose solution enables a unified V2X subsystem design across all regions. The unique design powered by Autotalks supports both LTE-V2X for models sold in China and the United States, and DSRC for models sold in Europe.

China’s V2X market continues to prepare for the implementation of the government’s ambitious smart transportation strategy. All major automakers, local and global, are expected to launch a massive deployment of V2X technology in China in the coming years. The market is moving towards mass adoption of V2X as most OEMs prepare to launch V2X-equipped vehicles by 2025.

To date, Autotalks has won eight mass production awards from automakers, including the two new Chinese OEMs. Existing rewards include wins with global OEMs that will ship V2X-equipped cars to China, towards the 2025 China NCAP V2X rating. The former mass production price of Autotalks in China will be released in early 2023.
